Kindly Yours is a small operation in a private beta. We collect very little, we set no cookies, and we would rather explain that in plain language than in six pages of clauses. Last updated 26 August 2026.

Who is responsible

Tomáš Zeman, publishing under the name Kindly Yours, decides what happens to the information described here. Write to hello@kindlyyours.guide about anything on this page and you will get a reply from a person.

What we collect, and only when you offer it

There is no account to make and nothing to log into. Two things reach us, and both because you chose to send them.

When you ask for an invitation. The form takes your name, your email address, and if you want to tell us, the city you know. We use it to decide who to invite and to write back. That is all. You are not added to a mailing list, and there is no newsletter to unsubscribe from. We act on your request, and on our interest in running a small beta well.

When you tell a creator something has changed. The note box on a guide asks for no name and no email address. What you write is emailed to the creator of that guide, along with which page and section it came from so they can fix it, and how long the note took to write, which is one of the ways we spot a machine. It is never published, never shown to other readers, and never turned into a public comment.

How long we keep it

Invitation requests and reader notes are kept until the private beta ends, then deleted. Ask us sooner and we will delete yours sooner, without asking why.

Who else handles it

  • Netlify, Inc., in the United States, hosts this site and keeps ordinary server logs, including IP addresses, to keep it running and secure. It also holds the invitation requests sent from the form on the homepage.
  • Google Ireland Limited provides our email and the spreadsheet where reader notes are kept.
  • Anthropic, in the United States, provides the language model that a creator talks to while making a guide. It handles what a creator says, and nothing a reader does.

Each one works on our instructions and nothing else. Where information reaches the United States, it does so under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

When a creator makes a guide

Making a guide is a conversation, and the conversation is handled by a language model on our behalf. Three things are worth saying plainly.

  • A creator’s words are never used to train a model. Not by us, and not by the provider, whose business terms commit to that.
  • Photographs are not sent to the model at all. They are stored by us, and only ever shown in the guide.
  • The provider holds what passes through only briefly, to guard against misuse, then deletes it. Weeks, not years.
  • The model tidies what a creator said. It does not invent recommendations, and it never adds a place they have not been.

You are talking to software, and it will not pretend otherwise.

During the private beta there are a handful of creators and we know all of them. If anything above changes, we will tell them before it happens rather than updating this page quietly.

Cookies

None, anywhere on this site. No advertising, no social media trackers, no fonts or scripts loaded from anyone else, and nothing that follows you from here to somewhere else.

One thing is kept in your browser. When you send a note on a guide, the times you sent them are saved so the form can stop at five in an hour. There is no name and no number in that list, it never leaves your browser, and clearing your site data clears it.

Nothing here follows you between sites or recognises you between visits, so there is no banner to click.

What we count

A guide page tells us when it opens, and tells us again if you tap through to a restaurant, a map or a website. Each line says which page, what you tapped, the page you came from, how wide your window is, and the time.

There is no cookie and no identifier in any of it, so we cannot tell one reader from another, or link this visit to your last one. It answers one question, which is whether anyone is reading the guide and what they open. If that is more than you want to send, switch on Do Not Track in your browser and we will not send it at all. A content blocker will stop it too, and the guide reads exactly the same either way.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to limit what we do with it, object to what we do with it, or ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere. Email hello@kindlyyours.guide and we will answer within a month, usually the same week.

If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.

These cover this site and the guides published on it. Using either means you accept them.

Where we are

Kindly Yours is in a private beta. Features come and go, guides may be briefly unavailable, and nothing here promises that any particular part of it will exist next month.

Recommendations are somebody’s opinion

Every guide is written by one person about places they have actually been. That is the whole point of it, and it means a guide is an opinion rather than professional advice. Opening hours change, restaurants close, prices rise, and nobody tells us. Check before you go. We are not responsible for what happens at a place someone recommends, and a creator is not responsible for your trip.

Who owns what

Creators keep everything they make. Their writing, their photographs and their recommendations stay theirs, with no transfer and no exclusivity, and they are free to publish the same things anywhere else. They give us only the permission needed to host, format, translate, display and share their guide as part of running the service, and that permission ends when they take the guide down.

The Kindly Yours name, the design of this site and the software behind it are ours. Please do not copy the design or collect the guides in bulk.

Using the site

Use it lawfully, and do not try to break it, overload it, or scrape it.

Links to other places

Guides link out to restaurants, museums, maps and other sites. We do not control any of them and are not responsible for what they contain.

What we are responsible for

The site is offered as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as a disappointing meal or a changed plan. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under French or European law.

Law and courts

French law applies. Disputes go to the courts of Paris, except that if you are a consumer you may bring a claim where you live, and nothing above takes that right away.
